About the movie:
From the creators of Despicable Me and the imagination of Dr. Seuss comes the 3D-CG feature Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, an adaptation of the classic tale of a forest creature who shares the enduring power of hope. The animated adventure follows the journey of 12 year old Ted as he searches for the one thing that will enable him to win the affection of the girl of his dreams. To find it he must discover the story of the Lorax, the grumpy yet charming creature who fights to protect his world.

Do you have a game personality?

Sure you do. Maybe you just don’t know it.

And your customers? Yes, they have game personalities, too. But – and here’s the big question – do you know what those personalities are?

As you strive to develop new ways to engage your customers and look for effective ways to gamify experiences with your brand, learn why and how your customers play games. Just as you understand things like which products they use, their age, income, spending habits and more,  you need to understand how their game personality will influence the way they interact. Knowing game personality types leads to a gamified experience that resonates with your audience.

If you haven’t read it, check out Game-Based Marketing by Gabe Zichermann and Joselin Linder. It offers useful insights on the basics of gamified marketing and on player personality types. In the book the authors describe 4 player types — originally identified by Richard Bartle in his famous research, “Hearts, clubs, diamonds, spades: Players who suit muds”:

• Achievers – it’s about the points, leveling up and ranks, achieving their goals.
• Socializers – well, they socialize, share, communicate, seek to understand other players.
• Explorers – they search, learn, want to discover things, relish the journey, and like to problem solve.
• Killers – winning is everything, highly competitive, they want to attack and eliminate other players.

As we work with our clients and think about game experiences that’ll help meet their goals, we also stay focused on the player; because if the player likes the game, they will be interacting with your brand — and not the competition’s.
