Teachers like Blockdot’s free learning apps like Sushi Monster, the new kid’s math app that Blockdot developed for Scholastic, and popular word game Chicktionary, and are encouraging parents to use them and other educational apps as tools for continued learning this the summer.

A separate report on Keloland.com this week featured Instructional Coach Amber Blume from the Sioux Falls School district in South Dakota listing Sushi Monster as one of the apps she suggests parents download for their kids to use this summer.
Also, the Keloland piece included a video of teacher-approved, kid-friendly apps, including Chicktionary, that help kids learn while having fun, too.
Citing literacy and math as core subjects that students should focus on while out of school, Blume said that iPhone and iPad apps, like Sushi Monster, are a great tool for keeping kids engaged with learning until school is back in session.
